At Reseda High School our students have a variety of talents starting with our amazing magnet programs, leadership, sports, all the way to Art. More than half of our students have either learning or physical disabilities and are English Learners. The majority of the students that I work with are of the minority groups and have low socioeconomic backgrounds.
I teach the visual arts to nearly 100 students and this year I received approximately $2 per student to purchase art supplies for the whole year. Although I am grateful for any amount of money that I receive, I strongly believe that my students deserve more in order for them to learn and express themselves through art.
