My students are currently sitting on a piece of carpet that I found in my garage. The carpet currently covers electrical cords that are attached to a cart which hosts the classroom document camera and projector. The carpet is half the size that it needs to be for all my students to be able to sit comfortably. Hence, many of my students are not sitting on the carpet provided. They are often seen maneuvering their way around extension cords in order to find a place to sit.
Oral language is considered the "manipulative" for reading and writing: My students are in desperate need of a safe and comfortable space in order to "turn-and-talk" with partners. Please help my students "transport" their learning on a new carpet that promotes safety, comfort, listening, and speaking skills.
