Students will have access to mathematical concepts and experiences from which they are currently limited. Graphing calculators make possible mathematical exploration, experimentation and enhancement of learning mathematical concepts. Graphing calculators are valuable educational tools that allow students to reach a higher level of mathematical understanding. They will take the time our students are currently spending on arithmetic and algebraic calculations and allow it to be spend on mathematical understanding, number sense, and applications. Specifically, having graphing calculators in the classroom will provide new pedagogical enhancement opportunities for our students. Graphing calculators will complement, not replace, mental skills as well as pen/pencil procedures.
