Mythology helped to provide a foundation for many civilizations. Greek mythology and culture can be seen in modern American culture. Greek mythology has been used in books, plays, movies and television. Mythology can help students understand the past and how it effects them in the present. Students can learn about the Greek Gods, their origins and their language. This knowledge can help build students' language and reading skills. Lessons would include: Intro to the Greek Alphabet and now to build vocabulary development, Which will lead to an understanding simple Greek words and then translating Greek sentences. Students will eventually write a paragraph in Ancient Greek. The next unit will be on the Greek Gods. Students will read mythology stories from Ancient Greece about the gods. In addition, there will be lessons on .Ancient Greek Culture and Its Impact on modern life.
