My students are very energetic and are always looking for new ways to let out their wiggles. I would like to provide my students with different chairs and seating arrangements to help them focus. The students will be able to pick from standing desks with fidget bands, laying or sitting on the floor with clipboards, sitting on exercise balls at desks, sitting in chairs with fidget bands, sitting or kneeling at low tables, or sitting at a traditional desk with a traditional chair. By allowing the children to have a say in their environment and to feel comfortable, I believe my children will be able to not only enjoy learning but to have better focus as well.
These different options for flexible seating will allow my energetic and enthusiastic 5-and 6-year-olds to channel their energy in a more productive way, and they will be more focused on the content and tasks necessary in our classroom.
