My students, teacher assistant, and I will be walking into our classroom in August with a lot of uncertainty and worry. We are going back to school because we believe kids should be receiving their education in person with their teacher and their classmates. I always tell my students that their safety is my number one priority when they are in my care. That doesn't change because of COVID-19. I want to make sure that we are going back to school with all of the precautions necessary to be safe and healthy. After many years of being in temporary locations, our school finally has a permanent place, and we were able to build a beautiful school. However, the windows do not open in our classrooms to bring in fresh air, which would not be an issue had we anticipated a global pandemic. Do I think an air purifier is the answer? No. The air purifier will be just one more thing in our line of defense (along with washing our hands and sanitizing surfaces and materials often).
