Having a comfortable space for reading can be the first inviting place to foster a love for reading. I hope the library space invites students to open a book, especially if it's for their first time.
Students from low incomes and underserved neighborhoods often face struggles before they even walk into the building in the morning. Basic supplies like pens and notebooks allows for students to come to school without an extra stress. Often a pen and notebook provided can completely change a students outlook on school. And snacks? Who doesn't love or need a snack during or after a long work session? Brain work always makes hungry students!
