Our students need a variety of books at different reading levels. They will use these books to make connections, understand reading strategies, and learn standards. We use these novels in class to make connect to what we are teaching in class. Connecting these concepts back to something concrete in their novel will help them better understand the skill being taught. These novels are used to help our kids grow as readers. We also use these novels to expand their vocabulary and boost their reading level. The students greatly benefit from guided reading novels in the classroom. I want my students to be able to use high interest novels, so that they are able continue growing their love for reading.
