Our students will be exploring Communities during this Project Based Learning Unit. Students will be using technology to research community helpers, the tools they use, and the importance each community helper holds in a community. Students will have the opportunity to visit various community places in our neighborhood and listen to community helpers talk about their jobs. At the end of the unit, students will be creating large models of community buildings as well as role playing the important people in the community. Students will use the dress up clothes while role-playing important community members and presenting their model of a place in the community. This will allow students to engage in a hands-on, authentic project.
