My students walk into the classroom everyday, hungry and tired, which makes it hard to be ready to learn. The violence they witness everyday really impacts their ability to learn. A rug with assigned spots will help ensure students have their own space, and hold them accountable to keep that space safe. I have tried tape, and students have ripped it off. Now, students have an idea of where to sit, but it is hard to regulate their seating without a visible spot to point them to. By donating to this project, you are ensuring that each one of my students has spot on the rug, that can't be taken off. Students learn better in a safe environment. With this rug, they can learn more comfortably because they have their own space.
