In kindergarten it is important that my students are exposed to high quality literature. To accomplish this we read several versions of Traditional Tales such as The Little Red Hen and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We then discuss how these stories are the same and different. We also discuss the characters and setting. A listening center with multiple copies of the texts we've read would allow them to reread and listen to these stories again during Literacy Centers. Listening to these stories again would help them to reinforce the story elements as well as to develop their vocabulary and fluency.
