Daily reading aloud and modeling to students helps to build strong and fluent readers. A perfect way and atmosphere for a read aloud is on a huge carpet square in the floor. Students can sit or lay comfortably while listening to such classics as "Charlotte's Web" or "Frindle".
As a class, we can meet on the requested carpet for Morning message or just short mini lessons. Moving about like this during the day, helps students to stay focused as we go on through the day and helps to build a sense of classroom community. Please help us with our goal of building a classroom community.
