Sensory deficits can be scary and debilitating....please help fund our project so our needs can be met! The sensory tools that have been selected for this project(Relaxation Center, hearing protectors, and Wrap Dolphin Scented) will have a positive impact on the daily lives of our students. Places to calm down, feel secure, feel safe can help our students not only get through the day but get through the minute. Something to hold onto can help our students feel pressure and make it through a crisis episode...maybe even prevent it. There are times the noise level in our classroom can be loud and overwhelming...especially since the construction on our building creates a constant pounding noise on our ceiling, which HURTS OUR EARS. Noise canceling headphones would feel like a dream!
Having autism is hard enough, but not having access to all the necessary tools and interventions makes it more of a struggle. My students mean the world to me...and I am only striving to give it to them!
