The biggest challenge I face as a visual arts instructor is having enough supplies for my students. I have a very limited budget for my 150 students. The Pop Art movement was the art of popular culture and optimism. My goal for this project is to bring excitement about art history and learning though a hand on experience. We will study the artist Andy Warhol and paint large cropped logos, using candy wrappers as subject matter. We will use paper, paint, markers, and mod podge to add a glossy finish. I will display the work giving everyone a chance to give positive feedback. The students gain so much knowledge when they create work in the style of an artist.
