Having access to my own projector in the classroom allows for me to easily model all class assignments and expectations to my students. Being a small Special Education classroom, a lot of the class work is done Whole group and requires much modeling before any independent work. Currently, I spend many hours enlarging worksheets on the copier to tape up to my white board and teach to my students. During instruction time, we spend about ten minutes moving around the room so that everyone has a good seat and is able to see the lesson being presented. Having a projector in the classroom to share lessons and model examples to my students will allow me to cut out the time spent on enlarging worksheets at the copier each week and decrease the moving around of students every time we do guided practice. Projecting lessons from the projector also allow me to highlight important details and show multiple images at once.
