I am requesting basketballs, basketball nets, soccer balls, low bounce tennis balls, hockey goals and carts to store/transport the equipment.
This equipment will be used by over 500 students each week. The basketballs will be used by my 1st & 2nd grade students for dribbling lessons. My 3rd, 4th & 5th grade students will use them for shooting. The new nets will help my student's depth perception of the rim which will also help their accuracy. The soccer balls will allow my students to work on dribbling, passing and trapping with their feet. The size 4 balls will be used by 1st and 2nd graders while the size 5 balls will be for my 3rd, 4th & 5th graders. The low bounce tennis balls will help my 1st & 2nd graders maintain control when they practice bumping up and tapping down in tennis. The low bounce balls also help my 3rd, 4th & 5th graders with control when they practice their forehand strokes in tennis. The hockey goals will allow for maximum participation of all students while learning about striking with a long-handled implement.
Having this new equipment will help foster responsible behaviors like respect, teamwork and honesty.
