"Foods of the World" is a new culinary class that brings the taste and flavors of global cuisine to our students. The goal of the class is to engage the students in hands on cooking labs, to prepare and taste foods of different cultures. To prepare for this new course I traveled to Italy and participated in cooking classes, which I want to share with my students. One of the main stays of the Italian diet is pasta. Learning how to make this staple will expand the students cooking knowledge. They will learn how to use new equipment, and expose them to new cooking techniques.
Having pasta rolling and cutting attachments and pasta drying racks would allow the "Foods of the World" classes to make homemade pasta while learning about the history, culture and cuisine of Italy.
