My students are of a wide range of reading levels. I want them to have all the opportunities I can provide for them to practice and become stronger readers. Being a second year teacher, coming from a higher grade level and having limited funding, I do not have many books that are on my 1st grader's levels. I'm requesting these leveled readers so that my students can read a variety of books in the classroom and also be able to check books out to take home that I know they are able to read. I want them to have fiction and nonfiction books so that they have a better chance of finding topics they are interested in. Having these books will help them become stronger readers and give them choice in their learning experiences.
