The donations for my classroom will help my students build their science and language arts skills. Three of the most popular types of learning are visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic in which students take in information. Some students are visual learners, while others are auditory or kinaesthetic learners.
The supplies that I am requesting will meet all of my students senses. The Insect Lore Original Butterfly Garden will help my students see all of the stages of the butterfly life cycle. Having the garden in the classroom will allow them to see this first hand and not through a book or video. I have also listed several books that will help teach my student about butterflies and the different stages of the life cycle. This will meet the auditory needs of my students. The Butterfly Garden Discovery Kit will allow the students to learn about butterflies through a hands on sensory activity.
I have also requested mounts for my classroom IPADS these mounts can attach to the wheelchairs and has a flexible arm. This allows my students to see the IPAD and to use a switch to activate an APP.
My students are visual/tactile learners and need to experience things hands-on. They learn well from sensory, hands on activities and experiments. The items that I have chosen for my students will meet their learning styles using the variety of activities and books.
