In this day and age of school budget cuts, as well as parental unemployment even the basics are getting tough to supply for students. I do my best to always provide pencils and paper for all of my students on a daily basis. Sometimes this isn't always possible due to my personal budget restraints.
In my classes, we usually have several projects every semester that would look much nicer printed in color. For example, my class just finished their Child Development unit and then they created a children's book which they will go read to a Pre-K classroom. They also work on portfolios, posters, etc. at different times of the school year. That is the purpose of the color printer in my project.
We also have several projects using color (the color wheel, complementary colors, etc.) every semester and the colored pencils are very much needed for these projects.
My school no longer supplies any office/teacher supplies. All teachers are expected to provide their own supplies out of their own pocket. I am the sole provider for my family of 5 and I have difficulty providing these supplies for my classroom and my students.
