Summer is coming and so is the time for instrument care and repair. Each summer is spent cleaning, assessing instrument damage, and hoping for a budget to support our programs need to maintain the instruments for student use year after year. Sending instruments our for repair can take weeks or even months. This time can be crucial when it comes to learning an instrument as they can quickly fall behind in their lesson group by missing their weekly lesson.
By donating to this project, I will be able to utilize the tools in the repair kit to lessen the amount of time the instruments are away from the students during the school year. Instead of sending instruments away from the school, I can spend time working in house to maintain, care for, and repair instruments throughout the school year as well as during the summer time.
