The Time for Kids issues will be utilized to expose students to more non-fiction literacy. We want to make sure that students have hands-on magazines from which not only will they learn, but they will analyze looking at text and graphic features. They can also identify main ideas and supporting details or summarization from each of the articles presented.
Connections to science or historic real world events can also be made. The sky is the limit as to all the great learning that can come from having these issues available for them. Being a STEAM school and having Time for Kids will allow our students to be exposed to science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.
