A projector will help the classroom come to life. Being able to do things like give presentations, play videos and science documentaries, allow students opportunities to research topics and present to their classmates, will enhance student learning and be a more exciting change from reading out of textbooks or receiving a lecture. The students I have love to see things on a screen and are visual learners.
As we evolve into a more technological driven society, I believe the classrooms should evolve as well. Students need opportunities to use and work with technology, alternative education students are no different. I hope to provide them with opportunities to use and work with technology in the classroom, and provide them alternatives to reading about something and taking a test. I hope to give them opportunities to create, watch, present, and be active participants in their education. A projector would be a step in that direction.
