Each young scientist in my classroom has a unique learning style and some of them just need to get up and move. Furthermore, many students in my classroom are over six feet and too tall for the twenty-eight inch tables I currently have in my room.
Having tall tables for our future scientists and engineers to stand at and work on will improve their posture, moods, energy levels, productivity, reduce back pains associated to hunching over a small table and decrease the risks of a sedentary lifestyle.
Utilizing standing tables provides for a more student-centered and authentic science learning environment.
