Snacks are a great source of energy that keep our students going during our long day! Once they start to get hungry, it's more difficult for them to concentrate on their work. We asked for a $5 donation from each student and only 5 students were able to bring in the money. We would NEVER deny a child a snack & begin to pay for their snacks out of our own pockets. If they don't have snack, they begin to get tired & distracted, they put their heads down and their school work & learnings through out the day.
All they're thinking about is filling their tummies with some yummy snacks. These snacks will provide the students with the opportunity to complete their work and stay focused throughout the day. They enjoy their "working snack". It really helps to get them through the morning!
Our students enjoy a variation of snacks- some sweet and some savory! But, we have a few allergies in the classroom and need to have a mixture for all students to be able to enjoy. We try to give our students the opportunity to eat a good healthy snack- which is why we picked a lot of healthy and nutritious options like Nutri-Grain Cereal Bars, granola bars and pretzels. We chose some sweeter snacks like Rice Krispies Treats, animal crackers and fruit snacks for the days when we reward the students with parties in our classroom!
