Our second grade classroom is diving into The Daily 5 literacy model. The Daily 5 is a tool focused on fostering literacy independence in elementary students. The centers are Read to Self, Work on Writing, Read with Someone, Word Work and Listen to Reading. My students truly love to read and write. These materials will help them practice these skills in a variety of ways. The cushions will allow students to have a comfortable space to Read to Self. The splitter is a tool for the students at Listen to Reading and follow along with a story online. The lap desks will allow students to Work on Writing in a fun and engaging way.
