Many of my students live in a food desert. They do not have access to high-quality fresh produce, and have little or no experience with growing their own. With the use of the vermicomposter, my students will experience first hand how good soil is made. With the digital soil analyzers they will learn what nutrients are necessary to build good soil. And, with the soil that is made, they will have the opportunity to grow their own nutritious fresh produce in the classroom.
My hope is this will inspire them to start their own little urban farms at home and share their knowledge with their families and communities. By donating to this project, you will help to make all of this a reality!
