The books in this project will help my first grade students learn their first grade literacy skills such as character traits, setting, sequencing, comparing and contrasting, cause and effect, and so much more. Not only will these books help with literacy skills, but language arts as well. Nerdy Birdie is an excellent resource when teaching adjectives. I want my students to develop a love for reading and have the opportunity to explore different styles of texts. Most of these books are books my students haven't yet read, making them new and exciting for them. I look forward to this project being funded as I love introducing new books to my students. Their excitement is what drives my passion for teaching.
