I've known this group of 27 third graders for 6 days, but I can say one thing for sure... This class of is full of energy. There are 11 boys and 16 girls. There is a ton of pent up energy that is looking for direction. My class is itching to find something worthwhile to pour that energy into. Our school houses a Behavior school. Within it we work to mainstream students that have been removed from other schools in the district for violent, disruptive, and disturbing behavior. My classroom hosts 2 of the 4 "B" students in our grade. These "B" kids need a reason to feel like "A" kids. I feel the project I'm proposing here will help to make that a reality.
