In my classroom, they are getting the chance to learn computer and Internet skills, which many cannot do from home. Our state testing is also online, and Chromebooks will prepare them for it. They will have the opportunity to feel confident and successful.
Furthermore, they love interacting with their peers and me through Google Classroom and Google Docs! They can be on any project in any classroom at any time and send me a quick note about something they're struggling with without the embarrassment of asking out loud. It allows for a whole new line of communication between the teacher and student. Most importantly, any time my students are able to get on Chromebooks, they are ENGAGED!
