Why interactive notebooks?
Interactive notebooks teach students to organize and synthesize their thoughts. They are able to accommodate multiple learning styles at one time in (and out of) the classroom by allowing students to take ownership of their learning through color and creativity. Interactive notebooks also allow students to create a resource to use as they continue to extend their learning Interactive notebooks while reducing clutter in the classroom, as well as in students’ lives. Student-teacher-parent interaction is built and strengthened with the use of interactive notebooks by allowing students to build a portfolio that allows for everyone to track growth over time.
Students will use tape, scissors, and glue to complete hands-on activities (card sorts, foldables, etc) to solidify math concepts and attach important worksheets and papers into their notebooks for future reference
Students will use the highlighters to color-code connections they make in their learning, highlight important vocabulary, and compare and contrast different concepts and ideas.
My 140 students use these supplies daily in class.
