Commonly in the veterinary industry veterinary assistants are relied upon to perform ear cleaning, nail trimming, and wound clipping and cleaning. These supplies will receive regular use in our hands on lab with live animal patients. My veterinary assistant students will be equipped to practice the skill theory that they learned in the lecture setting.
These supplies will help make my students career and college ready. With these supplies my veterinary assisting students will be able to more easy transition and be a successful, more valuable employee in the veterinary industry as they will have received instruction in theory and practical application.
Supplies that I have requested include hair clippers and clipper blades, which students will use to perform medical clipping, clipper care supplies for care and maintenance of nursing equipment, ear cleaner, fingerbrushes and dentifrice and brushes and combs. Each of these items will allow my veterinary assistant students to perform basic exam room grooming and have authentic real-world experiences with live animals before entering the veterinary industry.
