The Lovett 6th grade gifted students desire to do a Robotics Unit, but Robotics is a costly endeavor. Our mission is to prepare these highly intelligent students for the STEM jobs that are so prevalent in our society today through the teaching of Robotics. Students would design, build, and program a variety of Edison Robots to complete a number of functions. This project would develop critical and analytical thinking skills as well as interest students in the many STEM careers. Also, this will be an ideal tool to help students practice math, science, computers, and design technology skills. We are requesting a monetary donation to help purchase the items needed for this unit. We need 30 Edison Robots and 30 Lego Technic Compact Tracked Loaders. Students will work in groups of 3 to build and program different robots to perform a variety of challenges.
