My students are in need of additional STEAM activities that encourage them to use their critical thinking skills and problem solving skills. Not only can these tiles, and building kits be used to build buildings and cars. They can also be used to make letters, shapes, and patterns.
Students will be encouraged to take turns with their peers, to build projects together, and to think of new ways to build their projects when it does not work out for them the first time. This problem solving and working with their peers will also encourage students to develop social emotional skills that many of my students are still developing.
This will encourage students to learn both the letter and the sound that the letters make, review colors, creating patterns, and to use critical thinking skills. These materials will be used during Learning Center times throughout the day, and during small group activities.
