One subject I teach is independent living skills. This class is for students with moderate to severe disabilities who need practice learning daily skills that come easily to most others, including daily hygiene and grooming, household chores, and just as importantly, leisure skills. Leisure skills play such a huge role in feeling fulfilled in life. What we do in our spare time shapes so much of who we are. I would love to have a high quality electric keyboard in the classroom to help students work music into their leisure skills repertoire.
