Having these set of Kindles and headphones will allow for different types of learning in my classroom. I would expose students to the NYC public library through the Kindle. My students have difficult psychological and emotional challenges. A Kindle can serve as an excellent outlet to alleviate stress in a positive manner. The final thing that the Kindle would provide is the ability to explore beyond the walls of the hospital.
Giving the students in the hospital schools these tools is an investment into their personal growth. It teaches them healthy ways to remove themselves from traumatic situations. Using these Kindles in the classroom could provide the students with the spark that propels them to successful academic futures.
