An investment in a science center in our classroom will engage my students in activities that expand their minds beyond the walls of their hospital rooms. Not only are my scholars faced with day-to-day experiences of most adolescents, they are additionally burdened with incapacitating psychological traumas. At times, the education necessary to propel them forward is grossly and negatively impacted due to the restrictions of their mental abilities. I am asking for two microscopes, a prepared slide set and a robot for our science center.
A classroom science center can bring in smiles which can make a world of difference in our day. A focus of the relational workings of mind body is key in understanding ourselves and others. The use of microscopes will allow students to be mindful and present when looking at how organisms are formed and interact with one another. The use of robotics will add to the smiles.
