The class set of novels will be used during our “Building Character/ Acceptance” Unit. In addition to improving our reading skills and comprehension, these books will be used to discuss character skills and traits, such as empathy, compassion, self-esteem, leadership, responsibility, and honesty. Having interesting books to read can help them develop their love of reading, improve their reading skills, and develop character traits. By the end of the novel, I hope my students not only learn to treat others fairly with compassion, but also fall in love with R.J. Palacio’s unique writing style. This book will certainly open their minds and hearts to new wonders.

About my class
