I LOVE to teach technology to my students! Virtual Reality (VR) is a hot topic that I talk to my students all the time, and they get so interested in hearing about some of the latest items. But many of them will never get a chance to see or use some of the newest tools in their lives. Students currently have the opportunity to see VR creations using Google Expeditions but they have even a better learning opportunity if they create their own VR tour, whether it is of their classroom, school, or community.
I want to be able to give them a tool that can be both meaningful and relevant to their own learning. Seeing someone else's VR tour is one thing...giving students a chance to create their own is MAGICAL! Imagine students creating a VR tour of their own classroom complete with tags about projects that they have worked on? Imagine students creating a VR tour that could help support a museum? Having the Ricoh Theta SC 360 degree camera will let these students have an opportunity to use technology when it's fresh and new instead of being "old news."
