With these quality headphones, my students will be utilizing an interactive online program called Compass Learning. Compass Learning is a learning acceleration software for blended learning, intervention, and inquiry-based personalized learning. All of the lessons are interactive and include audio with them to enhance student understanding.
Those who cannot read have no advantage over those who can. While my students try their very best to be successful in school, there are many who continue to struggle to read and comprehend on their actual grade level. We cannot expect our students to succeed and take pride in their education in middle school when they are still struggling to keep up because they are stuck on an elementary reading or comprehension level.
Unfortunately, our school cannot afford to purchase these headphones for our students to go along with the reading program and since a majority of our students live at or below the poverty line, they are often unable to bring their own from home because they do not have the means to purchase them.
While it may seem simple, pairing these quality headphones with this fantastic online reading program will not only benefit my students in their academics, it will help prepare them to be successful in the real world.
