Due to the needs in my classroom, it is hard for me to give the individual attention and practice that each student needs at their instructional level. These Chromebooks would support my students by giving them access to both tools to support their learning and practice to help them to grow as readers and writers. The technology would allow my students to be able engage in daily phonics practice on the skills that they need. It would also give them access to books on-line that are at their instructional and interest level. Students that need text read to them would be able to use the computers to listen to texts. It would allow all of my students to read and be read to often.
This technology will not only impact their ability to read but also their ability to express themselves in written form. While the students practicing the phonics skills they will also be developing their ability spell words. My students will be able to type and speech to text their ideas. They will be able to see that words have meaning as they grow as readers and writers.
