My students spend a large portion of their day sitting down, which is a struggle for many of them to do for the duration of an activity. By getting these seven hokki stools, they would be able to fidget in ways that are still productive. With hokki stools, my students will have the advantage of movement, but also staying focused on their learning at the same time. Keeping focused on learning is the most difficult thing for many children, and these stools will help them stay in their seat and remain working. Our school's grounding statement is: Literacy is not optional. It is a civil right. Our students deserve access to a quality life. The key to a quality life is to be fully literate. Students in my class are already behind in many subject areas. Anything and everything that we can use to help them focus would be amazing.
