As our music program grows, I would like to replace many of the instruments in the classroom that are broken and others that are old or not practical for our music curriculum. Like many NYC public schools, there is no money allocated in the budget for music supplies and I am asking for help.
Each student will graduate P.S. 175 with the ability to read music, play an instrument, sing twice a year in a school-wide concert, and study music history and the impact of music on social issues.
In order to make sure all students are exposed to all these aspects of music, it is important for the school to have quality instruments and a complete class set of each. The instruments will be used by all students from Kindergarten through 5th Grade.
I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach in such a supportive school and I hope you will help me continue to bring quality music education to these amazing students.
