I have selected an assortment of literacy and math games and materials that are perfect for my first grade learners. These materials will provide engaging learning activities for my students during math and reading workshop. During these times I work with small groups of learners to meet their diverse needs. With this donation, I will be able to facilitate students working independently at these times by using these hands-on activities, puzzles, and learning games.
I know that the materials I selected will help my students succeed. These items will be self-selected by students to accommodate their learning needs and interests. The centers will help build their social and emotional skills as they work and problem-solve together. My inquisitive eager learners will enjoy working as a team to put together the academic lakeshore floor puzzles. They will learn number sense using the write and write number boards and tens-frames. The literacy games and folder centers will motivate them to practice phonics and literacy skills. The quality electric pencil sharpener will save hours and hours of precious learning time. The strong book bags will allow my students to take home books from the classroom to reread at home, building up their fluency and comprehension.
All of these materials and activities will greatly improve the educational experience that my students have during reading and math workshop. Thank you very much for your consideration of my project!
