As a start, we need to acquire (2) clarinets, (1) cello and (2) violins. Acquiring these instruments will have a remarkable impact, providing more students with the opportunity to discover new sounds and perhaps discover an instrument they love.
Participating in music goes beyond the classroom, learning to actively listen and play shapes and molds our students into young people who are mentally agile and have an appreciation for the arts.
My hope is, years from now, whether they are in an orchestra or a rock band, or playing a tune for their kids, students will look back, smile, and remember the magic of creating music for the first time.
