I teach Language Arts and Literature to fabulous students 7th grade students in the Penn-Trafford School District. I typically have 3 groups of students and teach each group in an 84-minute block, so our day together is full of quick transitions and many different activities. We spend our time together investigating different genres in both reading and writing through a variety of modes: close reading of fiction and non-fiction genres, annotation of different types of texts, writing workshops, investigation of mentor text, leveled grammar studies, flipped learning opportunities, independent practice and project completion, paired and group learning, etc. We focus on reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and much more. I also have students of all levels from struggling learners to gifted learners and all learners in between. Our district also has students from every economic group.
