Having a classroom set of the books titled: "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" would allow me to implement its content into the Government curriculum, as required reading followed by a term paper. By reading the book, they will learn in depth about the governmental policies and acts that were passed to eliminate Native Americans from their homelands. Students will discover that once these policies and acts were implemented, it led to the demise of the way of life that the Native Americans lived. The book details the governmental actions that were taken against each tribe in the west and southwest.
