My students are in dire need of leveled books in the library. If you are a book lover than please consider how much your donation will change the lives of my students. We all know that funding is extremely limited in Chicago schools, especially for items such as books, (which are considered a luxury nowadays). My students are extremely responsible and so deserving of books that tailor to their needs. We have achieved that highest rating possible in CPS and with these books, you will be giving teachers the gift of time (and we all know how precious time is to a teacher)! The books will remain in the library for teachers to check-out for their classes so they will be monitored yet very much used. Every child should have a variety of books to choose from instead of being forced to read the same story as the same time as their classmates. Leveled readers eliminate the stigma that children often face when they reach for a book that is considered "below" their grade level yet the books are uniformly skill based. Please help my school get the one things that we all know is essential to learning....books!!
