We will be working toward really reading all year in kindergarten. We want you to know though that the work we are asking you to help them with right now is the beginning of really reading and will set down a strong foundation upon which to build. The amount of time children spend reading will make a huge difference to their growth in this curriculum and . . . forever. Reading together increases vocabulary, sparks conversation, uncovers new passions, leads you down paths with new friends and grows knowledge about the world. Reading is crucial and that is why we have a mission for you to help us get more books. Without actual book in the students hands it makes it impossible for them to practice the skills they are learning! With your help our classroom will have enough books for all the students to share.
