As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. My class is an amazing group of diverse students speaking 9 different languages, coming from different backgrounds with unique family stories.
The students I work with every day are incredibly bright and resilient - making tremendous progress this year despite the challenges they face.
I have a class of 24 students who are hard-working readers, writers, mathematicians and innovators. They are eager to learn and be challenged.
